My favorite restaurant in New York City by far is Il Vagabondo. It is an Italian restaurant with a bocce court inside. It’s a smaller low-key restaurant located on 351 East 62nd Street, between First & Second Avenues. It was originally a bar where locals of the Italian neighborhood hung out, and still kind of is a local family restaurant. However, more recently people know about it for the great food and bocce court! When I go, my meal usually consists of tomato and mozzarella to start and either chicken parmigiana or meat ravioli as my meal. For appetizers they also have good marinated mushrooms and good stuffed mushrooms, and great antipasto. They also have great New York sirloin steak and good fish and shrimp. If I’m not too full to get dessert I order the Bocceball-Tartufo. The price of the food can be considered high, but definitely not too expensive for the amount and quality you’re getting in New York City. For example, the price of the tomato, mozzarella and basil is about $8 and the price of the chicken parm is $21. You have your choice of sitting at the bar, the bocce room or the dining room. I usually sit in the bocce room, it’s not as nice as the dining room (with it’s checkered plastic table clothes), but it’s a lot more fun and lively. They hold functions and parties in both rooms for up to 90 people (although, I’ve never had or attended a party here). You can even rent out the whole bocce room for the night. It is a great place to bring your family, friends and even clients. My dad took me here when I was 15 and every time I go to New York City I make it my first stop!
