Hotels Near Times Square: The Crowne Plaza Is Luxurious, Yet Affordable!
There’s no better recommendation than repeat customers. Shirell says this is the hotel she stays at each year: the Crowne Plaza Times Square. It’s a great location, especially if you’re new to visiting New York. And despite being luxurious, centrally located, and with great staff to make you feel welcome, it’s not as expensive as many of the other over-priced hotels in Time Square:
My son and I travel from our home in Atlanta to New York City once a year, and we always stay at the Crowne Plaza Times Square. This hotel is gorgeous, and for tourists like us, there is simply no better location than Times Square! We always get a corner room so that we can enjoy the views. There is nothing to compare to the Fourth of July fireworks display when viewed through the two banks of windows. The staff is very attentive and polite, and always has great recommendations for the latest things to do in New York. We always eat at their restaurant, Brasserie 1605, on our first night, because we’re usually too tired from travel to go out, and the food in this upscale establishment never disappoints. The business center is open 24/7 and that makes is very convenient to do a quick check of email or Facebook, or to print up tour vouchers and theater tickets. I recommended the Crowne Plaza to a friend two years ago, because she wanted to get married in New York City, and she wound up having the ceremony at the hotel. The wedding went off without a hitch, and she told me she thinks she is the only bride in history who had a stress free wedding day! The wedding guests were thrilled to be staying in a luxury hotel, and the on-site pool kept the children happy and entertained. You would expect to pay three or four hundred dollars a night to stay in such a grand hotel located in the heart of Times Square, but I have always been able to find a great rate with a quick search of various online booking sites. I don’t think I have ever paid more than $150 a night, and that leaves us with a lot more money to spend while we’re on vacation. The affordability, the luxury, the great staff and amenities, and the location which is within easy walking distance of Broadway shows, great restaurants, and the fun Grayline Bus tours make this the only hotel for us in New York City.
