Gray Line New York Tours
If you are looking for a bus tour of New York, you might want to check out Gray Line. They offer a classic double-decker bus tour of the city. Check out what Charlotte from NY has to say about Gray Line:
I live in New York, but when my relatives came to visit from Ireland, we decided to take a double-decker bus tour through the city. This isn’t something that I would have done on my own, but I am so glad that I did it. I had done my research beforehand and Gray Line seemed to have the best reviews, so we took their downtown loop bus tour. We bought our tickets in advance on the internet and saved ourselves some money that way (we paid $39, but if we had bought them on the bus we would have paid $45). Once we bought the tickets, I printed them directly from my computer and we gave them to the driver of the bus – it was so easy. The bus picked us up near Times Square and the tour was designed to cover as much ground as possible south of Central Park South. The bus made a number of stops including at Rockefeller Center, Central Park, South Street Seaport, Chinatown and the World Trade Center site. We also drove by the Flat Iron building, the Empire State Building and the Brooklyn Bridge. I really liked the hop-on, hop-off aspect of the tour – my aunts thought that it was nice to be able to sit in Central Park, tour St. Patrick’s Cathedral, have lunch in Little Italy, shop in Soho and spend some time at the World Trade Center site on our schedule without worrying about missing the bus. Once we got back to a bus stop, we never waited long for the next bus to come. The guides were all nice and friendly and seemed to enjoy their jobs. One guy really liked his puns, but other than that, they were really good. I learned a lot of random facts about the city that I would have never known otherwise. Grey Line offers a number of different tours besides the one that we did, there is one that covers Uptown and another that covers Brooklyn. If you are staying in the city for a few days, they also have tickets that can be used over 2 and 3 days. My aunts really enjoyed the tour and I wouldn’t hesitate to use Grey Line again when I have guests in town.
